Reclaim your love for the work
you were meant to do
Transform burnout & feel more creative and at ease in your sessions by learning to effectively work with your unique nervous system.
This 5 week course was created specifically to help you become a boundaries ninja in all of your relationships by teaching you how to align with the intelligence of your body instead of trying to be a ‘good’ (insert role).
Learn how to restore your boundaries with your clients as well as in the rest of your life.
It won't happen overnight but all of the facets of your boundaries will become clearer, stronger and more adaptable.
→ Energetic boundaries? Yep.
→ Emotional? Mmhm.
→ Relational? Definitely.
After 5 weeks you will experience
A deeper sense of being on your own team & knowing what you need
Greater clarity about what is ‘yours’ and what is ‘theirs’
More potent sessions as well as greater ease delivering them
Renewed inspiration for your work and/or close relationships
A new perspective on 'resistance'
in relationships
More awareness of subtle relational triggers and how to navigate them with more skill
CHOOSE A NEW PATH
& Learn to harness your boundaries
What if restoring your boundaries actually made the work you do - not only easier, but even more potent
You do amazing work with people. You guide them through healing and transformation, to overcome limitations, and learn to thrive.
You love what you do. Or at least you do when you’re not flirting with burnout or carrying around other people’s baggage. When that happens, the work that you love turns into a burden that you have to cope with.
Your energy, creativity and relationships take the hit - not to mention your work.
This is not a one-size-fits-all, light-your-smudge, and say-this-positive-mantra kind of approach. This is much more nuanced.
While it will be situated in the context of our shared mammalian anatomy, you will learn how to identify and tend to your unique nervous system's defensive strategies as well as your unique strengths and capabilities.
All in service of becoming even more skilled in your professional and personal relationships.

LEARN THE WISDOM OF YOUR BODY
& GROW YOUR CAPACITY
Hi, my name is Asa Dean, so glad you dropped by!
I have worked as a bodyworker, somatic coach & educator, and wilderness guide, all with a focus on trauma resolution and helping people to reconnect to their vitality & wholeness.
You can learn more about my session work here.

I’d like to share a little bit about my world in hopes of letting you get a feel for me...
I was born in Atlanta towards the end of the 80s. My father was a musician and my mother tended to me and my brother and sister and then later worked as a teacher. My childhood had plenty of food, physical safety and even awesome camping trips. It also had its fair share of addiction, mental illness, and the emotional and relational distress that comes with inter-generational trauma and neglect. Two weeks after I was born at home (go mom!) I was taken to the hospital for an emergency heart surgery due to my aorta being pinched shut. The surgery went great and I continue to have a capable & adventurous body. That procedure along with the anesthetics and extended stay in the hospital also likely primed my nervous system to deal with the stresses of life by defaulting towards more freezing or shutting-down kinds of responses.
The following are a few principles that guide my work with clients as well as living in general:
→ Our body/mind self is hardwired to move towards healing and wholeness
→ Our symptoms of distress are often caused by what were originally intelligent strategies to solve very real problems we encountered in our past
→ Working here in the present moment allows access to the most effective and genuine transformations
You can read more about my healing philosophy here.
One of my greatest joys lives in helping people transform experiences of suffering into those of possibility and belonging. Getting to witness the vulnerability, magic, and even humor that occurs along the way is the icing on the cake. I currently live in the desert Southwest of Durango Colorado and work with clients locally and globally online. Please be in touch for a free consultation.

Will this give me new techniques or tools to work with clients? While there are some elements of this course that can be used to help illuminate certain nervous system patterns within your clients this will not be the main focus. The majority of our attention will be towards our relationship with our own subjective experience while interacting with others. While this course does not focus on application for during sessions with clients, you will gain significant awareness and skills in terms of your own responses/triggers that will powerfully shape the way you show up and relate with others.
-
I am not a therapeutic professional, is this course still for me?While this course is designed with practicing professionals in mind, it is essentially a deep dive into the role of your autonomic nervous system plays in navigating relationships. Most of us have some amount of habitual defensive responses in relationship and this course provides a powerful framework for working with these responses. This can be especially true for people who feel overwhelmed by other people's feelings or have a difficult time discerning what is 'mine' versus 'theirs' (sometimes called Highly Sensitive Person or Empaths.)
-
I am an Empath or HSP, why would I want to do anything about that?Great question. I'd like to point out two difference. Empathy vs Compassion - empathy lets us feel what another person is feeling, maybe even merge with their state/energy. Compassion also allows us to notice what another person is feeling but includes the additional pieces of (1) staying connected to our own differentiated experience and (2) generating some kind of benevolent action, even if only internally. Compassion allows us to retain a sense if individuation and be less likely to be overwhelmed by another person's experience. Sensitivity vs Fragility - Sensitivity is what allows us to perceive with subtly. A well tuned thermometer will be sensitive enough to register subtle changes in the air. Fragility is sensitivity with a narrowed capacity or window of tolerance. If that same thermometer is only built to register temperatures between 40-80 degrees and it happens to be a freezing night or a very hot summer day then the thermometer will no longer accurately reflect its environment - or worse it might break. This course will help you to grow your capacity, aka expand your window of tolerance, to be able to remain stable, present, and responsive in the face of a wider array of relational experiences.

There will be a weekly 90 minute zoom call in which I will present a mix of concepts and theory, guided experiential practices, and time for Q&A. During the week you are invited to apply what you are learning in your practice / life and the following week we will build on the existing foundation. The course begins with more theoretical learning and proceeds towards more experiential learning. The zoom recordings will be posted within 72 hours of the live call.

What do you mean by Empath or Highly Sensitive Person? These are terms used to signify individuals who experience a greater than average sensitivity (and often fragility) towards life. Be it sounds, sensations, light, EMFs, smells, other people's emotions or presence, or other subtle energies - these people often feel and notice more. This is usually a double edged experience in that these individuals have access to more information with which to navigate life but also can have a difficult time staying centered and regulated or discerning what is 'mine' and what is 'others.' Learning to work with the autonomic nervous system (the intelligence that manages homeostasis on a bodily level) can provide significant benefit in terms of being able to differentiate what experiences are coming from the outside, what are coming from the inside, and how those influence each other. This ability to center our own body's communication and needs whilst navigating life and relationships is central to feeling safe and comfortable both in our own skin and in a world that sometimes brings unpredictable challenge and beauty.
