You do amazing work with people.
You love supporting your people through breakthroughs, being there for them in difficult times, and sharing in the magic of a truly resonant session or conversation.
You love what you do. Or at least you do when you’re not flirting with burnout or carrying around other people’s baggage.
When that happens, the work that you love turns into a burden that you have to cope with. Your energy, creativity and relationships take the hit - not to mention your work.
What if you could continue doing the great work that you do without feeling like your energetic/emotional/interpersonal boundaries were at stake?
What if restoring your boundaries actually made the work that you do not only easier but even more potent?
In this course you will learn how to restore your boundaries with your clients as well as in the rest of your life. Energetic boundaries? Yep. Emotional? Mmhm. Relational? Definitely. It won't happen overnight but all of the facets of your boundaries will become clearer, stronger and more adaptable.
You will learn about the cutting-edge neuro-physiology and relational science contained within the Polyvagal Theory as articulated by Dr. Stephen Porges.
You will learn principles and techniques from the field of somatic trauma healing and how to apply these for yourself both in and out of session.
You will learn how to implement and strengthen healthy clear adaptable boundaries both internally and relationally - not from a pre-made plan or set of rules but by learning to listen to your own body and its nuanced wisdom.
Maybe it's certain clients or people, or feeling like you've lost touch with the parts of you that exist beyond being a care-provider or holding space for others...but something in your core is feeling taxed, overworked, stretched too thin, or unheard in its needs for a change in how you give to others.
It's time to up-level your work by prioritizing yourself. // It's time to upgrade your work by upgrading your boundaries.
You will also learn how to discern between that gunky heavy feeling at the end of the work day that doesn’t belong to you and feelings that, while unpleasant, do have their roots in your personal work.
You love the work that you do and know what it's like to be deeply fulfilled by it
You also know what it's like to hit that wall of resistance
The one that eventually shows up after too long of postponing overwhelm, or having to see a particular client or social situation again
You love giving and supporting your people through breakthroughs, being there for them in difficult times, and sharing in the magic of a truly resonant session or conversation

In this 5 week course you will:
Recognize when your body is trying to tell you that your boundaries are getting messed with
Learn the basics of Dr. Stephen Porges Polyvagal Theory and how it applies to anywhere and everywhere you interact with humans
Learn fundamental principles of your autonomic nervous system (aka the operating manual for living in a human body that we should have been taught way before algebra or making a facebook profile)
Understand the difference between empathy and compassion and why one will burn you out and the other will deepen your ability to be of service more effectively
Discover the habitual (and often semi-conscious) defensive strategies your nervous system uses when in challenging situations and what to do about it
Learn about the physiology and relational dynamics that drive the common mammalian protective strategies of fawning, fighting/fleeing, freezing and shutting down
Understand & appreciate nuance between the freeze response and the shut-down response
Most of us were taught how to memorize abstract political boundaries by the time we were eight and never taught how to listen to the language of our bodies - the one place that can inform us of our own genuine and ever-shifting boundaries
This course is for you if:
You are a practitioner in the healing / helping field, be that a yoga teacher, bodyworker, coach, therapist, hospice worker, medical provider, or any other person working closely with other people's distress - and you want to improve your boundaries aka resilience from the inside out
You are an empath or HSP who feels feels bombarded by other peoples feelings or states, or have a difficult time staying regulated & centered around other people
You are dealing with burnout or empathic distress (we will learn about the important difference between empathy and compassion)
You are having a difficult time continuing to love the work you do due to overextending yourself, poor boundaries, not knowing how to receive support nearly as good as you give it, or other features of burnout
You have a difficult time feeling your 'okness' when your client isn't 'ok'
